All over the world for thousands of years, people have gathered eggs for food.      Jerry’s late mother, Frances Locklair conceived of the idea for this painting and also modeled for it. Mrs. Locklair is placing her day’s collection of eggs into a basket to carry to her kitchen.     Having one’s own chickens and eggs was commonplace before the `60’s; every country family and some city people had them.     Mrs. Locklair sold her chickens in 1960 as the trend of buying grocery items at stores became popular.
