   This painting was done near Manning, South Carolina for Mr. George E. Calloway in 1982.   At that time pulpwood was harvested with small pulpwood trucks and the logs were cut in 6 foot sections and hauled to the mill.   This practice disappeared around 1990.  Now huge tractor trailer trucks carry the entire trees minus the limbs to the pulpwood mills.
