In the old days, most farm families had their own milk cow to furnish their dairy needs.      This painting is a re-enactment by Jerry Locklair’s father, the late Pete Locklair, milking the family cow.     He milked one or two cows every morning and every evening until his children became adults.     He sold his last cow in 1962.
